THE ELLIS COUNTY TEA PARTY
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to educate and organize a grassroots movement of like-minded citizens, to communicate our views to our elected representatives on all legislation, whether local or national in scope. Our message clearly states our support and protection for the Constitution of the United States of America as written by the Founding Fathers when they pledged their "lives, fortunes and sacred honor" to this Republic.
Our organizing principles are:
- In God We Trust - Our national motto.
- Limited Government - As our founding fathers recognized, restraint of government is necessary to protect the liberties of the people.
- Fiscal Responsibility - Government at all levels must learn to live within its means. To saddle future generations with the crushing burden of our excess spending is unconscionable.
- Personal Responsibility - Liberty is unsustainable without responsibility. Each citizen must take responsibility for the consequences of his or her own actions while respecting the rights and dignity of others.
- The Rule of Law - Consistent, independent and uniform application of the law is critical to a free and prosperous society.
- National Sovereignty - We must maintain a strong national defense, effective security for our borders, and sole control over our laws and land.
ABOUT US
We are a group of grassroots citizens that are peaceful and law-abiding. We will work strictly within the boundaries of the law under our constitutional rights to reign in our out-of-control government. We will welcome any person who will agree to our principles, but we will not tolerate any unlawful, hurtful or violent activities.
We are a group of citizens concerned about wasteful, disorganized, out-of-control spending in Washington, and dedicated to organizing like-minded average, ordinary citizens, into a powerful voice that Washington will not be able to ignore.
Ellis County Tea Party is an entirely volunteer, citizen-run group of people tired of seeing professional politicians use our own money to buy votes with wasteful, disorganized spending. Please join us as we work to redirect the country to a more sustainable long-term direction -- one that is more consistent with the intentions of our founding fathers.
We’re not a protest movement anymore,” said Matt Kibbe, Freedom Work's president. “It is a protest movement morphed into a get-out-the-vote movement. We are here to think nationally but act locally.”
WHAT WE WILL NOT STAND FOR
- Personal Attacks - We are debating positions and policies, not demonizing people or groups.
- Unfounded Rumors - The easily verifiable facts are enough. Don't weaken our position by stretching the truth.
